NOMINATIONS OPEN SEPTEMBER 8

The Virginia K. Shehee Most Influential Woman and Young Woman event returns on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at East Ridge Country Club. The 2026 Most Influential Woman and Most Influential Young Woman nominations will open on September 8, 2025. The top six candidates for the Virginia K. Shehee Most Influential Woman Award will be announced in January 2026.

NOMINATIONS WILL CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT ON OCTOBER 17.

Virginia K. Shehee Most Influential Woman Award

The Virginia K. Shehee Most Influential Woman Award will recognize business women, civic leaders, and philanthropists that have made significant contributions to our community and whose leadership, influence, poise, and determination are demonstrated throughout the community and beyond.
Nominees must: 
  • Be a business woman, civic leader, or philanthropist in Northwest Louisiana
  • Demonstrate influence and leadership in their business or organization(s)
  • Have a positive reputation based on their experience, leadership, and integrity
  • Exhibit significant professional and/or community accomplishments
  • Build recognizable and lasting initiatives or changes with their businesses/organizations and/or the community
  • Must have shown a commitment to philanthropy by helping children, the elderly, those in need, the arts, business development, education, and/or other acts of caring

Virginia K. Shehee Most Influential Young Woman Award

Recipients of the Virginia K. Shehee Most Influential Young Woman award must demonstrate their leadership, poise, and determination through meaningful acts of philanthropy for their fellow students or their community.

Nominees must: 

  • Must be a high school junior or senior in Northwest Louisiana

  • Demonstrate influence in their school and/or community

  • Exhibit significant education and/or community accomplishments

  • Must have shown a commitment to philanthropy by helping children, the elderly, those in need, the arts, business development, education, and/or other acts of caring

About Virginia K. Shehee

This prestigious award is named for a civic leader, businesswoman, and philanthropist Virginia K. Shehee, who passed away in 2015, after decades of service to Northwest Louisiana. It honors women who have made significant contributions to our community and who may do much of their work behind the scenes.
