Holy Angels clients are putting their heart and soul into their favorite songs as they participate in The Holy Angels Choir.

Herb Armentrout, Broadmoor Baptist Church music minister; his wife, Jana Armentrout, a choir member; Brook Boddie, associate music minister; and Tim Magill, music ministry associate.   Boddie, a harpist, also offers weekly music therapy at Holy Angels.

The 20-person choir is practicing for a number of performances , including an appearance during a concert at Broadmoor Baptist. The group practices each Monday. Armentrout and the others mix music theory with singing. They’re also teaching the clients signs to go with the songs.

The choir members will have special outfits for performances. The men will wear tuxes donated by B&B Tuxedo, while the women will wear formal dresses donated by Praise Him Fashions, of Dallas, Texas.

“We want to form a group that is musical ambassadors for Holy Angels,” Boddie said.

The Armentrouts, Boddie and Magill said working with the residents is joyous.

“They just radiate when they sing,” Jana Armentrout said. “It is the highlight of our week.”

“It is so genuine,” Herb Armentrout said. “They’re purely expressing what’s in their hearts. I think people will be moved when they perform”

“They are by far the most loving group I’ve ever seen,” Magill said.
