SPORTSMANSHIP: Any contestant that displays poor sportsmanship, violates these rules, or violates any local, state or federal laws will be subject to disqualification.
ELIGIBILITY: Registration is open to all. The rules and registration committee reserves the right to refuse any entry application.
SAFETY: Each team member will be required to wear a Coast Guard approved life vest while the outboard engine is running. The consuming of alcohol during tournament hours is strictly prohibited; any signs of consumption or possession, that team will be immediately disqualified. Due to accountability, all participants must check in at the weigh-in site regardless if your weighing fish.
TEAMS: Teams will consist of 2 paid entrants, and must remain in the boat at all times during event. No one will be allowed in the boat at any time other that the team members.
TACKLE: Only artificial lures can be used.
SCORING: Scoring will be based on the weight-in pounds of bass (Largemouth, Kentucky or Spotted) with a minimum length of 12 inches on a flat board. Fish presented at weigh-in that are less than 12 inches will be disqualified. A half pound will be deducted for any dead fish. Only 3 fish per team will be counted, and only 3 fish in your possession at any time. Fish will be returned to Red River or Caddo Lake.
FISHING HOURS: Fishing hours will begin at 6:30 am and will end at 2:30 p.m. Weigh-in line will close at 3:00 p.m. Official time will be kept by the weigh-in committee.
TRAILERING: You may trailer your boat at any public launch site on any of the Bass Classic locations. You may not start fishing until 6:30 a.m. and you must stop fishing at 2:30 p.m. All teams must be at weigh-in line and checked in before 3:00 p.m.
TIES: In the event of a tie, contestant’s largest bass will determine positions.
BOATS: Boats must be legally registered.
COMPLAINTS: Complaints must be filed with tournament committee before weigh-in.
ENCROACHMENT: No boat shall fish within 50 yards of another competitor, unless given permission. Absolutely no “Hole Sitting”
OFF LIMITS: Red River-Cooleys and the Barge turnaround, Stephens Lake. Lake Bistineau-North of Dorcheat Bridge, Bar Pits.
SLOT LIMITS: Fishing in multiple listed tournament water will be permitted, although all participants should be aware of all lengths and slot limits that he or she is fishing and abide by all Federal and State regulation according to that body of water.
CHECK-IN: All pre-registrants are required to check-in at Red River South Marina on August 23 or 24 between 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
WEATHER: There will be no refunds issued due to unforeseen weather situations.
