The “Mustang for Good” Raffle has shifted into high gear. Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased online at www.mustangforgood.com or by visiting one of the three nonprofit organizations benefiting from the raffle ticket sales – Cara Center, Gingerbread House Children’s Advocacy Center, and Holy Angels. These three local charities will equally share 100% of the proceeds for the health and well-being of local children, families, and individuals with disabilities.
A beautiful vintage 1968 Ford Mustang is on the block, having undergone a complete, upgraded restoration.
“It will ride like a ’68 Mustang, but perform like a modern automobile,” said John Treadaway, classic car enthusiast and owner of Treadaway’s Auto Supply in Shreveport. John and friends are the heart, mind, and muscle behind making this one-of-a-kind opportunity possible. For those who want more specifics, this amazing ride has a new 302 roller engine, T5 transmission, Wildwood brakes, power steering, hydraulic clutch, KYB suspension, MSD ignition, OE wiring harness, Factory A/C, AM/FM/CD player, and 17-inch chrome wheels for this off-the-rack, complete restoration, including upgrades to modern technology.
“We were blown away when we received the news that John was willing to generously donate this blue beauty to this cause,” said Amy Heron, Executive Director of CHRISTUS Foundation Shreveport-Bossier. “Not only will the winner receive the grand prize worth $30,000, but he or she will also receive a full photobook that documents every step of the restoration, including all of the brochures and information on the newly installed parts and components. And unlike many cars from 1968, this one does have A/C!”
Local businesses have also joined in the spirit of generosity by donating professional appraisal services, printing and promotional materials, including Paragon Press who provided design and printing services for the tickets, forms and posters, and Alpha Media who is donating billboard design and placement. These donations have helped to ensure that 100% of ticket sales can be donated via a tri-share between Cara Center, Gingerbread House, and Holy Angels.
